On the basis of the HOPE study, 10 mg of lisinopril is approximately 2.5 mg Altace (ramipril). Altace 10 mg 40 mg lisinopril. So it seems that was the doctor. Note, however, lisinopril 20 mg dose is the usual effective care for people with hypertension. A higher dose of lisinopril is not much additional impact.
